Labour Peer Lord Ahmed has been sentenced to 12 weeks in jail following an accident in 2007 where he was found to have been using his mobile phone whilst driving.
Lord Ahmed recently courted controversy by attempting to inhibit free speech within the House of Lords by threatening to mobilise ‘10,000 Muslim demonstrators‘. This was in response to another member of the House trying to organise a viewing and discussion of the controversial film Fitna by Dutch MP Geert Wilders.
