With attendances, baptisms, and church weddings at an all time low, coupled with the news of increasing indifference to the Bible amongst Britains youth this probably comes as no surprise to anyone except the CofE itself.

I predict it won’t be a quick and painless death. There will be many calls from Bishops etc. decrying the state of the modern godless society, bemoaning the fact that they are losing their influence, and demanding state assistance to save themselves. Hopefully they will be recognised for what they are – the last desperate actions of an increasingly irrelevant organisation.

So, does a dead church go to heaven?
